A microchip is your pet’s permanent ID that will help return them to you safely if they are found. At Auburn Animal Clinic, we can microchip your pet during any routine visit, and no anesthetic is required. If you have recently acquired a new pet, we can also perform a scan to see if they already have a microchip. We strongly recommend microchipping all animals. In the event they are separated from you, it may be your only means of being reunited with them.
You can visit the AVMA website to learn more about some of the most frequently asked questions about microchipping. You can also use the Pet Microchip Lookup website to find a pet's owners based on the microchip number, independent of the microchipping company.
